Zero-Based Budgeting for Nonprofits

Posted on October 9, 2015October 9, 2015 by Todd J. Sukol

I recently had the pleasure of debating with fellow students at the School of Philanthropy about the relative advantages and disadvantages of zero-based budgeting for nonprofit organizations. Over the last few years, zero-based budgeting has become very much in vogue again in the nonprofit and philanthropic sector. Like so many good things, however, is sometimes…

We come with different stories, different stakes, different seasons of life. Our vantage points are not the same—but the journey is shared.

Let us remember to walk with one another with generosity, curiosity, and care. Not assuming we know what it feels like to sit in their seat, but knowing we are side by side on the road that matters most.
